You wrap me in a straight jacket, equal parts whore and mother.
Tied tightly, I am a tiger in a cage.
“Put this on my dear,” you whisper,
“Otherwise I'm afraid you might hurt me.”
First one arm, then the other, I feel the straps tighten, and soon I am bound, gagged, and obedient.
All worth it if you would only say the words.
Yet this familiar confinement screams for a bold Houdini escape.
The key to old wounds and false beliefs.
Beauty possessed and displayed, I adorn.
In fear, you crush the delicate fur and hide the bright colors of being,
making a tiger grey to fit your needs.
Clawless and toothless, I starve.
Having tamed the fierce free essence where beauty lives,
its joyful brilliance fades, made ugly within the hard embrace of fear.
Soon your eyes wander.
The beauty killer is on the hunt once more.
